Welcome to Shadetree Woodworking. Here you can find woodworking tools, tips and projects.
My short story
Hello, I started woodworking as a hobby about 7 years ago. I didn’t even know I would be good at it. I have always liked working with my hands and most of the things I’ve built or repaired had to do with metal fabrication and welding. You don’t have to be skilled at woodworking to make amazing projects, you just have to have the desire to succeed. I didn’t start out with expensive power tools. I bought a three or four hundred dollar planer at my local hardware store so I could get different thicknesses of wood for projects.
I eventually upgraded my table saw, got a dust collector and used my fabrication skills to build my own wood CNC mill. I use this CNC mill all the time whether it’s building stuff to sell or make thank you plaques for my sons football and baseball coaches.
Woodworking, it’s a time to enjoy and relax!
When I’m out in the garage playing with my woodworking tools I think of this as my therapeutic time.
I want to help you enjoy your garage or woodworking shop to it’s fullest potential. If I can help spread the knowledge and enjoyment of woodworking then I feel I’ve done my job.
As time has gone on and more people started seeing the projects I’ve done it’s been very rewarding. Now I stay pretty busy building many things for friends, companies and on the internet.
My goal is to get you started and help you along the way.
My goal is to get you started if your new to woodworking and just don’t quite have the experience and confidence to put your hard-earned money into tools for fear of never using them. I can help you and answer questions about what tools are more useful than others and if a certain tool is even needed.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
